Great Dames!

Diana Rigg - Three Piece Suite

For all you diva devotees out there, we’re putting together another one of our wonderful Dame collections.  Previous releases looked at the careers of Helen Mirren, Maggie Smith, and Judi Dench at the BBC, but no collection of collections would be complete without our latest addition, Dame Diana Rigg.  Although she first rose to fame as Emma Peel in The Avengers, Diana Rigg demonstrates in this collection the range of her talents, including her ability to remain dignified in a silly hat (as above, with Bob Hoskins in Three Piece Suite.) Pending conclusion of rights, we’re hoping to include all the Mrs. Bradley Mysteries, Little Eyolf, Three Piece Suite, the long unavailable Genghis Cohen (featuring an early appearance by fellow bond alumnus Daniel Craig) ,and Unexplained Laughter, where Ms. Rigg plays a broken-hearted journalist who retreats to the country only to be haunted by the ghostly laughter. Throughout this collection, Dame Diana is supported by a who’s who of British talent, including Bob Hoskins, John Cleese, Peggy Ashcroft, Charles Dance and Anthony Hopkins.

This is very exciting! Would love ‘Three Piece Suite’ especially! I have the others on VHS but a DVD copy wouldn’t go amiss!
Now, re: ‘Three Piece Suite’ – there are 6 episodes and in each Diana plays 3 different characters. The BFI here in London has most of them on tape but ‘Celluloid Dreams’and ‘Mea Culpa’ are missing so hopefully somewhere in the States they have all the episodes. At the BFI they have a couple of ‘playlets’ doubled up too but one called ‘This Situation!’ has an extra bit right at the end where Diana & george Cole are holding a stare so ong that they crack up laughing which, of course was not broadcast. The edithttp://www.bbcamericashop.com/blog/dvds-in-the-works/2010/09/24/great-dames/ed version is also in the BFI archives.
If you would like more information on this you can join the Ministry of Riggism Yahoo Group and look under Databases where all the transmission dates, cast, writers, etc are listed:

Fingers crossed that this will really happen!!!!

My original post needs a bit of an edit – don’t know how the url of this webpage was put in there but it got into the sentence that begins ‘The edit…..
I suppose I am so excited I hit the wrong button ☺

Also ‘george Cole’ should be ‘George Cole’ and ‘are holding a stare so ‘ong’…’ should be ’so long’

Thanks for the good news and apologies for the errors ☺

Women in their 40s and 50s do have very specific hair stiynlg needs. At this age, concerns like covering up gray hair and looking elegant become important. Women want to look younger and feel younger, and having amazing hair is one way to achieve this. I’m glad you addressed this demographic in your post.
