Avid royal watchers will be setting their alarm clocks to catch some, or all five and half hours, of the BBC’s live, commercial-free coverage of the Royal Wedding on BBC America, but we know some of you are already wondering: will there be a DVD? We are happy to announce that on May 24th we are releasing The Royal Wedding – William & Catherine, the official BBC DVD of the full wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey, plus an hour of outdoor highlights. These will certainly include Catherine’s arrival at the Abbey, the post-wedding carriage procession along Whitehall and the Mall, and William and Catherine’s appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, when the Mall fills up with well-wishers as far as the eye can see. The BBC has staked out 70 camera positions along the route, and 30 cameras in the Abbey. The DVD will also include William & Kate – A Royal Engagement, the 48-minute documentary which was broadcast last November on the BBC and NBC Dateline.
BBC Worldwide will donate all proceeds of the distribution rights (after deduction of its own acquisition and distribution costs) from TV, DVD and download-to-own sales of The Royal Wedding to The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry (charity registration number 1132048). This is expected to be in the region of £150,000.
While we’re in a royal mood, may we recommend a look at our boutique of all things royal? Among the of the latest arrivals are British Royal Weddings of the 20th Century, which offers three hours of comprehensive background to this week’s event, and the Royal Wedding commemorative mug.

I thank you for making my birthday one to remember always!
Thank You, BBCA!
Our antiquated VCR failed us, again. My wife Ellen is of Irish Welsh descent (Her grandfather is from Cardiff)and will now forgive me for not recording this historic event for her! I can’t wait to give it to her as a present!
Cannot wait for the DVD. Will be most cherished.
When will this DVD be available for purchase?
Ah, I just read May 24th, Can I pre-order it?
Regards
Carl (x-pat Canada)
I WOULD LIKE INFORMATION/COST OF A DVD BY BBC AMERICA OF THE ROYAL WEDDING.
Will there be a replica copy of the actual wedding Ceremony of William and Catherine, available to purchase?
Please release Will and Kate’s wedding on blu ray also. Your coverage was so beautiful in high definition, to view it in standard def would be a bit disappointing.
Thank You very much e-mail… dpd89zx10@milwpc.com
Please e-mail me when the dvd – roual wedding of william and catherine becomes available. I like to order one. I lived in California and this is the simplest elegant wedding i have ever seen.

Will there be a high-definition Blu-Ray disc release of the Royal Wedding? The high definition feeds provided live during the event made for a sumptuous watching experience. I hope a Blu-Ray version will be made available.
I want to personally thank the BBC for your superb broadcasting of the Royal Wedding. Though living in the USA I awoke at 4 A.M. EST to view the entire braodcast and chose the BBC over any of my national stations. Your reporting was far superior and elegant compared to the gossipy, loud style of those from this country. It allowed one to capture the full flavor of the day in all it’s splendor and charming British style. The camera angles were the best of any broadcasting channel. The guest comments added depth and interest. Thank you SOOOO much for your presentation and I am purchasing your DVD to enjoy watching it over and over.
Please release a longer one. A 2 hour DVD does not do the day justice.
Such an enjoyable day to experience the beautiful wedding of these two lovely people. Your coverage on BBC America was delightful. Thank you.
It is great that you are putting The Rpyal Wedding on DVD. Now plase do a documentary on Pippa and show it to Prince Harry
Can I pre-order the DVD on The Royal Wedding?
Very beautiful and happy couple, inspiring the British people …
While all the commentators did a fine job I felt Piers Morgan was tops because, being a Brit, he was closer to the situation, knew it well, knew those involved, and knew the customs. Jolly good job, Piers!
2 hrs is OK I guess but really would like the whole program showing all the hats beforehand etc.
I will order this but PLEASE PLEASE release a longer version! I got up very early to watch the entire BBC telecast and loved every second of it…and would like to see every second of the wedding again…and again…and again. Please release your entire telecast. Am very willing to pay extra for this spectacular event.
Can you please let us know if you will be offering a longer version on Blu-ray, this is what I am looking forward to seeing.
I will be ordering as I only got to watch bits and pieces but what I saw was awesome! I was preparing to attend our own ‘royal wedding’ (son), so didn’t get to watch the whole thing, from beginning to end. Looking forward to viewing…
A very beautiful story that was one of the best in modern time. The Royal Couple are really suited and make up the
most in unspoken grandeauer and pompe.
I just hope that they will not be hounded like his mother
and father were, and certainly not in divorce and more hounding.
