Series 1

Meet René, the most wanted man in occupied France. Women want his body. The Resistance want his brain. And the Nazis want his sausage. In a small café in Nouvion, France, this harassed proprietor is having a difficult war. With the German Army in residence at the bar, René is risking his neck to aid the Resistance by hiding two British airmen and a radio transmitter upstairs. As if this wasn't enough, René has also got involved in hiding a priceless painting in a garlic sausage, which even now is being sniffed out by the Gestapo. But René's real problem is his wife, Edith, and what she will do to him when she finds out about his affairs with two sexy waitresses!

Includes the episodes:The British Are Coming (Pilot); The Fallen Madonna; Pigeon Post; Saville Row to the Rescue; The Execution; The Funeral; Red Nick’s Colonel; The Dance of Hitler Youth

Series 2

René is having a difficult war. He is not frightened by the Gestapo; he is not frightened by the Germans; he is not even frightened by the French Resistance. But his wife Edith scares the living daylights out of him! And now that he has been shot dead and is posing as his own twin brother, it appears he may have to woo her all over again and even remarry her in order to gain back his café, which he left to her in his will. But he has also promised to marry Yvette and Maria, his two sexy waitresses. Throw in three garlic sausages, one of which contains “The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies,” one of which contains a forgery and the third of which is an actual sausage, and you have a very difficult war indeed!

Includes the episodes: Six Big Boobies; The Wooing of the Widow Artois; The Policeman Cometh; Swiftly and with Style; The Duel; Herr Flick’s Revenge; Klinkerhoffen In Control

Series 3

Follow the hilarious trials and titillations of René Artois—café owner and accidental French Resistance fighter—in this enormously popular BBC comedy. In Series 3, the Communist Resistance kidnaps René’s knockwurst sausage containing the priceless painting, “The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies.” Fortunately, the original lies elsewhere. Unfortunately, it’s inside another sausage under the blouse of a waitress imprisoned in General von Klinkerhoffen’s chateau. All’s well until lunchtime. Such is life for René, the most improbable French hero since Inspector Clouseau. Will he collect enough suspenders to launch an antique plane stolen from the local museum? Will Colonel Von Strohm finally detect the British airmen disguised as French maids? And will anyone ever notice that “The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies” adorns the back of a painting by a struggling young artist named Van Gogh? Filled with high farce and bawdy badinage, ’Allo ’Allo began as a spoof on a BBC drama series about the French Resistance (Secret Army), and soon became one of the most popular BBC comedies of all time! Created by the same team as Are You Being Served?, it made comedian Gorden Kaye an international star.

Includes the episdoes:
The Nicked Knockwurst, Gruber Does Some Mincing, The Sausage in the Wardrobe, Flight of Fancy, Pretty Maids All in a Row, The Great Un-Escape

Series 4

Poor René. It is becoming harder and harder to live up to his reputation as ‘the bravest man in all France.’ He was last seen in a prisoner of war camp, trapped with his wife and both mistresses, not to mention the two idiotic airmen (who were tunneling into the camp from Monsieur Alphonse’s mortuary), Michelle, the hardest taskmaster of the Resistance, and Col. Von Strohm and Cap. Hans Geering (who were pursuing everyone else when the tunnel collapsed). What’s worse, Café René and its gin supply are in the unreliable hands of his mother-in-law. More hare-brained schemes, more cross-dressers, more sausages, more fractured accents, more double entendres – they’re all part of the rich texture of this hugely popular sitcom from the BBC!

Includes the episodes: Prisoners of War, Camp Dance, Good Staff Are Hard to Find, The Flying Nun, The Sausages in the Trousers, The Jet-Propelled Mother-in-Law

Series 5 Parts 1 & 2

Part 1

For René, the end of the war just cannot come soon enough. Relying on a camera hidden inside a potato, a long distance duck, and of course, his unparalleled charm, he aids the French Resistance in their outlandish plots to fool the Germans and end the war. But if René doesn’t marry Denise, the leader of the Communist Resistance, it could mean the end of him! With his trusty piano player at his side, René manages to escape a giant circular saw, blast his way into the bank’s vault, and poison the team of Generals. Can René obtain the plans for the German invasion in time to save everyone? Or will the overbearing passion of his female collaborators force him to save himself?

Part 2

René Artois is a man on the run. Acting as a pawn for the French Resistance, he spends his days running from the Gestapo, the Generals, and naturally, from all of the women who desperately yearn for his affection. But unfortunately for René, he is also running out of time! If he wants to make it out of France alive, he must fake the death of the undertaker, fit a million Francs down Lieutenant Gruber’s trousers, and diffuse a bomb disguised as a Christmas pudding. But will René’s own antics catch up with him when he least expects it? Or is he quick enough to elude his friends and enemies before its too late?

Series 6

René Artois is a simple man. He runs a quiet café in Nouvion, France, and his only desire is to keep his trysts with the café’s two beautiful waitresses secret from his wife. But ever since he was drafted by the Resistance to be hero of all France and was shot dead by the Germans, René’s life is in constant turmoil. The Germans have captured the British airmen and only René can save them. But not before he becomes impaled upon a 20 foot radio tower, disguises himself as the hunchback of Notre Dame, and brokers a clandestine deal involving a solid gold cuckoo clock and the Portrait of the Fallen Madonna with the Big You-Know-Whats. What a tangled web of deceit, distress and double entendre! Will things ever sort themselves out? Find out in the sixth season of this outrageously funny sitcom from the BBC.

Includes the following episodes: Desperate Doings in the Graveyard, The Gestapo for the High Jump, The Nouvion Oars, The Nicked Airmen The Airmen De-Nicked, The Crooked Fences, Crabtree's Podgeon Pist, Rising to the Occasion

Series 7

The riotous seventh series of this beloved comedy finds René attempting to flee to England to avoid execution by either the Germans or the Resistance, but not before rescuing his mother-in-law. She was last seen, as usual, in her bed, but this time she’s with Leclerc (Jack Haig, Are You Being Served?, Dad’s Army) and attached to a hot air balloon headed due south! But first he must smuggle food to the clueless downed British airmen, who are stranded in a storm drain. Zut alors! Only world peace can bring poor René some peace! Includes all ten episodes of the seventh series of this outrageously popular Britcom, which made Gorden Kaye an international star.

Series 8

Two years have passed and French café owner René Artois (Gorden Kaye, Last of the Summer Wine) is still the most wanted man in occupied France. Women want his body. The Resistance wants his cooperation. And the Nazis want his painting of the Fallen Madonna with the Big You-Know-Whats. Laugh till you cry at seven new episodes of hilarious mayhem when the Germans and the Resistance outsmart each other disguised as flamenco dancers and then as Hitler himself. Blackmail, theft, assassination plots and ransom schemes abound in a tangled web of deceit, distress and double entendre. René still silences-"Stupid woman!"-suspicious wife Edith (Carmen Silvera, Doctor Who) despite his dalliances with two sexy waitresses! As seen on PBS. Extras include a Christmas Special, and a 40-minute featurette about the beloved long-running series.

Series 1
The British Are Coming - The Village of Nouvion in Occupied France, 1941. Two escaping British airmen are sent by the French Resistance to hide in Rene’s Café, a small dining establishment. But nobody at Rene’s speaks any English, and no one is ready for the intrigue that follows.

The Fallen Madonna - Enter Herr Flick of the Gestapo, who begins to investigate the disappearance of a valuable painting, The Fallen Madonna. Why are Colonel von Strom and Captain Goering lending their uniforms to the British airmen?

Pigeon Post - Fearful of being caught in the German uniforms and being shot as spies, the British airmen burn those uniforms. This reduces Colonel von Strom and Captain Goering to dressing as French onion-sellers.

Saville Row to the Rescue - Still disguised as onion-sellers, the Colonel and Captain are waiting on tailors in London (under direction of the Resistance) to sew them new uniforms. But Herr Flick is looking to infiltrate the ranks of the onion sellers.

The Execution - René is on his way to blow up the railway, which Captain Goering has already destroyed accidentally. Rene is captured by General von Klinkerhoffen, who demands of Colonel von Strom that Rene be shot. Lieutenant Gruber gives the command to fire!

The Funeral - After Rene’s supposed execution, Herr Flick insists that his funeral be attended by senior officers to seek out the members of the Resistance. René has come back as his own twin brother, also named René, who now must plan for his own burial.

Red Nick's Colonel - In retaliation for the killing of Rene, the Communists kidnap the Colonel and the Captain. Luckily, in the process of escaping the Communists with the assistance of the Gaullist Resistance, the officers manage to get back The Fallen Madonna.

The Dance of Hitler Youth - The Germans celebrate the burning of the Reichstag (by having the young girls of Nouvion dress as Hitler Youth and perform Bavarian dances). Meanwhile, René and Edith don disguises to attempt to substitute a forgery of The Fallen Madonna for the real painting.

Series 2
Six Big Boobies - Herr Flick now has not only The Fallen Madonna, but two forged copies as well. René thinks that things around the café are returning to what passes for normal when the escaping British airmen turn up again, this time disguised as nuns.

The Wooing of Widow Artois - Bad news for Flick. Hitler wants his painting. Flick decides to conceal the real painting inside a sausage in Rene’s café and send Der Fuhrer one of the forgeries. The airmen now conceal themselves in a cow costume to try to escape.

The Policeman Cometh - British Intelligence send in Officer Crabtree disguised as a French Policeman to help the airmen. He parachutes into the top of a tree just as the duo, still disguised as a cow, are attempting to escape.

Swiftly and with Style - René and the Captain take Gruber’s armored car in an attempt to blow up the train containing the sausage with the forged painting on its way to Hitler. Meanwhile, Edith is courted by Mssr. Alphonse, but she decides to marry René instead.

The Duel - Mssr. Alphonse is mortally insulted that Edith would chose René over him and challenges Rene to a duel with pistols. The Colonel helps René in his predicament by ordering troop maneuvers at the site of the duel.

Herr Flick's Revenge - The Colonel and Captain are imprisoned by Herr Flick who wants to learn the whereabouts of the real painting. René and company sew together a balloon from knickers they have been stealing all around Nouvion, that balloon to take the British airmen away.

Series 3

The Sausage in the Wardrobe - Maria, having been detained by von Klinkerhoffen (with the Fallen Madonna sausage strapped to her bosom) is imprisoned in his chateau. The General subsequently discovers the sausage and hangs it in his closet to cure.

Flight of Fancy - The attempt to get the airmen out by antique airplane (with the assistance of suspenders and von Klinkerhoffen's lawnmower motor) is made. Meanwhile, Gruber is given the painting of the Fallen Madonna to copy, even though René's mother-in-law has gotten hungry and bitten off the corner with the signature.

Pretty Maids All in a Row - René has hidden The Fallen Madonna on the back of old painting. The General notices that the "old painting" is a van Gogh and confiscates it. The British airmen, meanwhile, have new disguises as a waitress and a street walker.

The Great Un-Escape - The airmen are in the mortuary, dressed as tarts, waiting to tunnel into the POW camp to hide and get new uniforms. The Fallen Madonna, hidden behind a van Gogh, has been given to Gruber for safe- keeping.

Playing Dead Again - The British Airmen have been captured and are to be put on a train for Berlin in the morning. Gruber warns René, and gives him the keys to the château and the cell. But Herr Flick and von Smallhausen are also after the airmen themselves, and the Resistance plan backfires when Alphonse challenges Leclerc to a duel.
