'Allo 'Allo!: Series 4

Poor René. It is becoming harder and harder to live up to his reputation as 'the bravest man in all France.' He was last seen in a prisoner of war camp, trapped with his wife and both mistresses, not to mention the two idiotic airmen (who were tunneling into the camp from Monsieur Alphonse's mortuary), Michelle, the hardest taskmaster of the Resistance, and Col. Von Strohm and Cap. Hans Geering (who were pursuing everyone else when the tunnel collapsed). What's worse, Café René and its gin supply are in the unreliable hands of his mother-in-law. More hare-brained schemes, more cross-dressers, more sausages, more fractured accents, more double entendres - they're all part of the rich texture of this hugely popular sitcom from the BBC!

Meet Rene, the most wanted man in Occupied France: Women want his body. The Resistance wants his brain. And the Nazis want his sausage!

In a small caf? in occupied France the harassed proprietor, Rene, is fighting his own war. With the German Army in residence at the bar, Rene is risking his neck to aid the Resistance by hiding two British airmen and a radio transmitter upstairs. As if this wasn't enough, Rene has also got involved in hiding a priceless painting in a garlic sausage, which even now is being sniffed out by the Gestapo. But Rene's real problem is his wife, Edith, and what she will do to him when she finds out about the affairs he is having with two sexy waitresses!

Prisoners of War - Hans is successful in vaulting over the perimeter fence at the POW camp, so one escape is complete. Gruber and Helga decide they will rescue the rest. Gruber picks them up in a garbage collection truck and drives away.

Camp Dance - Aided by Gruber, Rene and company dance their way out of the POW camp. We learn that Maria has deposited herself in the mail to escape. She affixes the wrong amount of postage, is sent only as far as Switzerland and is never seen again.

Good Staff Are Hard to Find - Rene interviews applicants for Maria’s old job, but Michelle appoints Mimi, a fanatical Resistance colleague. Captain Bertorelli joins the Colonel’s command as Liaison Officer for the Italians.

The Flying Nun - The news is that the Germans are about to invade England. Flick, suspecting the Colonel and von Klinkerhoffen of plotting to assassinate Hitler, infiltrates the Colonel’s office to plant a bug.

The Sausages in the Trousers - The secret radio is being powered by a tandem dynamo until stolen submarine batteries can arrive. The spy camera sent from London has fallen into a vineyard where the peasants are currently refusing to work for fear of being shot by the Communists.

The Jet-Propelled Mother-in-Law - Several of our cast come up with plans to attempt to rescue Herr Flick from the dungeon of Von Klinkerhoffen. Meanwhile, Flick is on the rack and Edith succeeds in blowing up a portion of Nouvion.
