This boxed set contains four lavish costume dramas and literary adaptations from the most prestigious production companies in Great Britain. Each feature film in the 4-DVD set is an epic tale filled with romance and intrigue. The movies included in this set are, The Cater Street Hangman (an Inspector Pitt Mystery), Four Feathers (adapted from an A.E.W. Mason novel), Lady Audley's Secret (adapted from a Mary Elizabeth Braddon novel) and Poldark (based on the Winston Graham novel).

The Four Feathers (1978), starring Jane seymour and Beau Bridges, is set against the backdrop of a looming war in Egypt and the Sudan during the waning years of the British Empire. After handsome cavalry lieutenant, Harry Feversham dishonors his regiment and loses his fiancee, he journeys to the Sudan and throws himself into battle with blind fury in an attempt to regain his reputation and win back the love of his life.

The Cater Street Hangman (1998) is a fast moving and gripping story of love, life and murder set against a background of sophistication and squalor. It is adapted from a novel by best selling murder-mystery writer Anne Perry and stars Keeley Hawes and Eoin McCarthy.

Deception and murder abound in Lady Audley's Secret (2000). Lucy Graham (Neve McIntosh) is a Victorian girl-on-the-make married to Sir michael Audley (Kenneth Cranham), an aristocrat 30 years her senior. Sir Michael's nephew begins to nurse suspicions implicating Lucy in the disappearance of an old friend, and her scandalous past threatens to catch up with her.

Set against the picturesque Cornwall coastline, romance and intrigue are in the air in Poldark (1996) as Clowance Poldark is torn between the love of an aristocratic young man and a mysterious stranger. Starring John Bowe, Kelly Reilly and Ioan Gruffudd.
